As a first time author this story came about when we downsized from our home in Antrim. My wife Eilish and I were very fortunate to find a wonderful, as it turned out temporary home on the Cargin Road. The Cargin Road leads down to the shores of Lough Neagh in the townland of Doss.
There is a ancient tree there called the Doss Tree and having spent many hours enjoying its’ beauty I wrote this story about a young girl called Dolores. Dolores with three new friends discovers she has a special gift to connect with this ancient tree. With their help and her special gift she sets out to protect the part of the Lough shore near her home.
